What is the difference between Weapon Shield® CLP and Weapon Shield® Solvent?

Weapon Shield® CLP is primarily an oil based cleaner lubricant and protectant. While it has excellent cleaning properties, it does not have the strength to cut some baked on carbons or embedded coppers and alloys.
Weapon Shield® Solvent has a base that is designed for better cutting power, but still contains the Advanced Boundary Film propertied giving increased lubrication, water resistance and corrosion protection.
My recommendation is this:
  • If you have a firearms that needs a deep clean or has never had Weapon Shield used on it before, use the Solvent to give you the best possible cleaning to that when you apply Weapon Shield® CLP, you’re beginning with a clean slate upon which to best improve your firearms lubrication and protection.
  • Once you have done a thorough cleaning with the solvent, then apply Weapon Shield® CLP, and you’ll never need the solvent again.
The solvent also works great on suppressors and flash suppressors that retain carbon build up as well, and is a more prolific remover of rust and corrosion.

Don't Chlorinated Paraffins cause corrosion?

Chlorinated paraffins can cause corrosion. However, if used they have to be used in moderate or high strength to do so. They also have to be of the long-chain type. Weapon Shield® products do not use long chain paraffins which is why we also qualify as environmentally safe, and why the product does not qualify under California. Prop 65.
Weapon Shield® does not cause corrosion. Period. We actually recommend Weapon Shield® for long tern storage on all metals.

Can I buy Weapon Shield® on Amazon?

Currently, Weapon Shield® products are not available on Amazon, and while we recognize the convenience of shopping on that platform, there are several factors involved in this decision.
